Taiwanese protesters who have occupied a government building for three weeks in protest at a services trade agreement with China mainland said they would leave on Thursday evening.

The demonstrators -- mostly young students -- occupied the main chamber on March 18 in the island's first such protest. They will leave from 6:00 pm (1000 GMT) Thursday Jordan Akins Jersey , student leader Chen Wei-ting announced in a televised press conference Monday.

Protesters described his promise as a ""goodwill"" gesture.
