Bennett was due a $2 million roster bonus next week. His release will save New England about $6 million in salary cap space.
Bennett joined New England in November of last season after being released by Green Bay for ”failing to disclose a physical condition.”
He started seven games for the Packers in 2017 after signing a three-year Jakub Vrana Jersey , $21 million contract as a free agent. Following his release, Bennett appeared in two games for the Patriots before being placed on injured reserve with hamstring and shoulder issues.

When the Bears traded for defensive end Khalil Mack, it was only a matter of time that they signed him to the contract extension that the Raiders refused to give him this offseason.
It didn’t take long to get that deal done.聽A source with knowledge of the deal tells PFT聽that Mack has agreed to a six-year Bobby Ryan Jersey , $141 million extension. The deal reportedly includes聽$90 million in guaranteed money and $60 fully guaranteed million at signing.
Those numbers mean that Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald‘s run as the highest-paid defensive player in the league ended after one day. Donald signed a six-year, $135 million deal with the Rams to end his holdout.
